Type of Attraction, Tour, Activity: Day Tour
Introduction: This is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day in Belgium! Travel to the medieval town of Bruges and discover why it's nicknamed the "Little Venice of the North". Stroll around the old city on a guided walking tour and spend some free time shopping for Belgian chocolates!
Description: Drive through France to Belgium on the northern motorway until your arrival in Bruges. One of the most beautifully preserved medieval towns in Europe, Bruges looks like a living canvas painted by old Flemish masters.
Upon arrival, your guided tour begins with a pleasant walk through the old city including sights such as the magnificent Grand Place, quaint houses with elaborately decorated facades, the Halles (an outdoor market with a belfry), the Place du Bourg with the Saint-Sang Basilica, the Gothic-style Town Hall and the "Beguinage" (Beguine Convent).
Then cruise down the famous canals, another way to enjoy the charm of the "Little Venice of the North" (April to October only). There is free time afterwards for individual interests such as visiting the museums of Flemish art or browsing for handmade lace and Belgian chocolates.
